Diet and exercise can do wonders for those hoping to sculpt their physiques into something they can display proudly. Unfortunately for many, however, diet and exercise are often insufficient to correct certain imperfections, which can become a source of embarrassment.

For those whose problems can't be remedied with lifestyle changes alone, Dr. Mata offers a variety of surgical options to give you a body you can be proud of. He's been practicing for over two decades and knows what it takes to make you look your best.

Read on for more information about the procedures Dr. Mata offers:

Liposuction

Liposuction has been around a long time and is still the best way to remove small pockets of fat that don't respond to lifestyle changes. In the traditional method of liposuction, a small incision is made in the skin near the affected area, and the surgeon then inserts a small suction tube or syringe which is used to remove fatty deposits.

There have been some recent advances in the techniques used in liposuction that have made it safer, more effective, and less painful, with a dramatically reduced recovery time.

In the tumescent method of liposuction, a dilute anesthetic solution is injected into the areas to be contoured. The fluid constricts smaller blood vessels and produces a feeling of numbness. This method allows fat to be removed with minimal blood loss and less bruising. Another new technique is ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty, in which ultrasonic energy is used to liquefy fat cells before their removal.

Dr. Mata's extensive experience with liposuction and his commitment to mastering the latest techniques allow you a variety of choices on how best to achieve your body goals. Schedule a consultation to find an option best suited to your needs.

Spider-Vein Treatment

Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias or sunburst varicositis, are small, thin veins that lie close to the surface of the skin. These unsightly clusters of red, blue, or purple veins most commonly appear on the thighs, calves, and ankles.

If you're one of the millions of people who suffer from spider veins, Dr. Mata can treat you using a process called sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is a relatively simple procedure in which veins are injected with a sclerosing solution, causing them to collapse and fade from view. The procedure is simple and safe; complications are very rare.

Contact our office for more information about sclerotherapy and schedule a consultation with Dr. Mata to discuss your options.

Thigh Lifts

Like a breast lift, a thigh lift is performed to correct sagging. It can correct drooping buttocks or legs, cellulite, and loose, unsightly skin around the thighs and buttocks.

Dr. Mata can remove excess tissue and reshape the thighs and buttocks, decreasing skin irregularities and improving contours, giving you tighter, more attractive thighs and buttocks.

If you're self-conscious about your thighs or buttocks and nothing seems to help, talk to Dr. Mata. He has helped thousands of patients regain a youthful look with thigh lifts and other body contouring procedures.

Tummy Tuck

Dr. Mata has performed hundreds of tummy tucks, the common name for a procedure known as abdominoplasty. During abdominoplasty, excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen are removed, tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall and reducing the appearance of a protruding abdomen.

Abdominoplasty is the ideal treatment for patients who are bothered by large fat deposits in the abdomen or loose skin, often caused by pregnancy or substantial weight loss, that won't respond to diet or exercise.

Ask Dr. Mata which of the specific techniques of abdominoplasty are right for you. As with any procedure, Dr. Mata will provide a customized plan to address your specific goals and concerns.

Upper-Arm Lifts

A common place for fat to accumulate, loose skin and excess fat deposits can cause upper arms to become loose and flabby with age.

Luckily for those dissatisfied with the look and feel their upper arms, Dr. Mata offers a procedure called brachioplasty. Commonly called an upper-arm lift, in this surgery, Dr. Mata can tighten your sagging upper arm skin and help you look as good as you feel.

Call our office to schedule a consultation, and find out if an upper-arm lift is right for you.
